Rising dramatically out of the central forest plains of Sri Lanka, the 200-meter granite monolith of Sigiriya is an engineering masterpiece of King Kashyapa (477–495 AD). To make the most of your climb, arrive at the gates right at 6:30 AM before the heat and crowds build.
